Configuring your machine

Before using many of the modules in the workshops, you may need to download the the Xlist-stat program and modify your web-browswer.

Xlisp-stat

Download the appropriate X-lisp-stat for your machine
(http://stat.umn.edu/~rcode/xlispstat-resources.html).
After installing Xlisp-stat, you will need to modify your web-browser to launch Xlispstat when files ending in .lsp are returned. In Netscape
- Select the Helper Applications from the Preferences submenu under the Options menu bar,
- Make a new entry to read:
```
        Mime type:    application
        Subtype:      x-lisp
        Extensions:   lsp
        Application:  Xlisp-stat - this will depend on the version you installed
        File type:    TEXT
        Action:       Launch Application
```
After you are complete, your NETSCAPE screen should look similar to:
